In a few hours, I will be up in the skies!

I will be departing for Canada in a few hours to meet with my best friend, Arlene Lawson. Just finished packing and I have a few more hours to spare so I thought I'd share with you the works I am taking with me. These are commissioned works. Enjoy!

Have a safe and successful trip. Nice artworks. I liked "Too Many Cooks" best. So when are you going to have your show?

Hey, I like your use of colour in all the paintings. "Too Many Cooks" is my favourite. Say hi to Arlene for me (if she remembers me).

Excellent work Rolly? Are they your own? Are you selling them in Canada? When I was in the Phils I bought 7 oil paintings sa bangketa lang and we are planning to start a gallery for Filipino artists.
Bon voyage and have a safe and successful trip.

I must say my favorite is the 4th one -Too Many Cooks. I don't know where I've seen the style but it's definitely one of my favorites. So many colours and lines...! ^_^

svelte rogue I hope magustuhan din nung nagpagawa, hehe. Thanks

rey a Thanks. I had a pleasant trip. Too many cooks is about the preparations for a town fiesta. I'm glad maraming nagkagusto. There isn't any show in the offing yet. Hirap makaipon ng gawa e. Thanks for asking though. I'll be thinking about it.

Chet I'm glad you liked them. I will as soon as she's up.

Vicky Thanks. Yes, they're my own creations. But you can see traces of Legaspi, Manansala and Sanso. I'm working on them until I get to have a style of my own. Working on a gallery for Filipino painters? That'd be nice.

Gela Thank you. I arrived safely. No hassles or whatever.

Bayi I'm sure you express yourself better in another medium and that you can express yourself via the arts if you wanted to. It's just a matter of practice. :-) Thanks. I had a wonderful trip.

JMom I'm glad you liked them. Too Many Cooks seems to be the most popular from among them. Of course, you are a good cook. No wonder, you'd like it. Memories of town fiestas?

Bedlamite My influences include Legaspi, Manansala and Botong Francisco. I call this style "transparent cubism"

Mayamaya Thank you for inviting me to your sister's exhibit. It was a very good show. My eldest daughter couldn't take her eyes off the flowers in the black background. And the food was very delicious. It was our favorite of all. I'm glad you liked the paintings.

kassy How are you? So, you're going on your practicum this year. So's Kraiganne. Good luck and make your parents and teachers proud. I'm sure you will. No doubt about it. Thank you for coming over and commenting.

Batjay Menage a trois is a subtle way of a political choice between good and evil. Naks, pang palalim no? haha Syempre, sa dilim nabubuhay si Batjay. hahaha Pag-uwi mo, alis tayo ng gabi.

Syempre, kasama si Jet at si Nitz. MAhirap nang masapak pagkatapos ng merry making. hehehe

Sachiko No, it was not my mom who passed away. I hope she gets to stay with us for a few more years. It was my aunt, her only sister, who passed on. We all call her "mommy".

Very sensual yung "threesome" Tito Rolly. What inspired you to do this?

I am sure the recipients of these compositions will be more than pleased. I can already tell. Too many cooks is good.

I can see that the "threesome" will also look nice in brighter colors. You know me, I like bright colors.

i love all of them! yes, one of these days, i will definitely have to commission you (perhaps when i go back to work =).

have a great trip!

rolly said...

tingaling What inspired me to do the threesome? What do you think? It is something more than what is its surface meaning.

I'm glad you liked the paintings.

Mec Thank you.

Kat Sige lang. Just tell me when you want a painting. hehe Thanks.

Tito Rolly... magkano magpa-commission (painting) sa iyo? Yung tulad ng too many cooks.

rolly said...

auee Depends on the medium and the size. Too many cooks is a 15" X 51" oil. I usually charge about 20G in Philippines pesos. That would be about US300.00 plus shipping.
