first there were seven...

The latest addition in cyberlandia is a blog written by a zany group of Filipino bloggers from around the world. Having started out from the exchange of funny emails between Doc Emer, Sassy, Batjay,The Cat, Jet, me and the witty computer manipulations of computer wizard, Polo, Doc Emer got the idea of forming an email group called Bloggingberks on December 7, 2004.

From the initial seven members, the berks grew to its present number of thirty three who constantly exchange notes on various topics under the sun. As to be expected, what would come out from a group of bloggers but a concerted effort to create another blog that would showcase each and everyone's prowess at the written word. The fact that the members of the group are as diverse as anything that is from east to west and everything in between in terms of interests, the blog called blogkadahan: Rebels without because, is written by Filipinos of different ages(hence the diversity in time references), places (with members coming from Manila, US, Singapore, Belgium, Germany, England, New Zealand and Japan) and professions (a lawyer, engineer, housewife, teacher, etc...) making the blog interesting to all sex, age, shape and color.

UY! nag plug na ng blogkadahan ang Tito Rolly. ngyahahaha. tingan mo nga yan. nagsimula lang tayo last december with 7 members and in 3 months naging 33 members na. hanggang ngayon enjoy pa rin ako magbasa ng mga threads - it takes a longer time now dahil marami na tayo. i think i get over a hundred emails a day. ang hirap pa niyan eh halos lahat nakakatawa kaya di ka pwedeng magskip. nakakainis. hehehe.

sino ba naman gago ang makakisip na gawing chat room ang gmail? tayo lang siguro. BWAHAHA. sabi ko nga tayo'y mga taong matitino na walang magawang matino.

and now we have a blog site that is meant to be read slowly. unlike the fast phased bloggingberks egroup where we give rapid fire one liners, the blogkadahan site is more laid back. you read it over a cup of coffee or tea and laugh out loud at your own pace.

the first series of blogs is an introduction. we all get to introduce ourselves one by one to the other members and to the world. this early, i am learning a lot from our members. inside the humor, there is truth and the real person emerges. this is the ultimate way of getting to know someone. in this medium, you are not distracted by appearances. it's one mind speaking to another mind, pure and unadulterated. as it should be when you're building a relationship.

i'm excited about the next topic about love - "Is pers labs never dies and howcudu?" ngayon pa lang excited na ako kasi hindi ko alam kung ano ang mangyayari. one thing i know - it's going to be a riot.

i almost missed doc's invitation. kasi, i read e-mails first then respond later hanggang matabunan. buti na lang hinila si pusa.

inis na nga sa atin ang g-mail kasi hindi ito makasabay sa dami ng mails na nagpapalit-palitan. para tayong mga istudyanteng pinatatayo sa sulok at maghintay.

teka bat,
bakit di ko makita ang comment mo.
natatakpan ba ang mukha mo ng brip?

200 e-mails a day when my home networking had a problem - that is what I ended up. Didn't know which to read first and how to cope with it when as I read and delete I get 2 more ....but it is oodles of fun and non stop flow of information which I enjoy. I learn a lot too... :) thankful to be a member and have the 32 others as co-bberkers.

Hi Tito R! Long time no talk. Naliligaw pa rin ako sa mga Blogging Berks chat exchanges kaya buti nalang may main blog na ang mga ka-berks!

Batjay Oo nga. Nakakatuwa no? PAti gmail sumusuko satin. hehe. Sa sunday pa lalabas yung akin. Nakakatakot kasi ang gagaling ng mga nauna. Baka magsuffer ako by comparison. Ayos lang. post lang ng post.

Doc Emer Ikaw naman ang founder ng berks. Magandang idea yung ginawa mo, and now with Batjay to moderate and assisted by the computer wizardry of Ate Sienna and Polo, how can we go wrong?

Cathy Oo nga, antay kami ng antay ng response mo, buti natutunan mong magbukas ng email. Tekam hindi ako ang nagtatago sa brip. S bosing, hehe

Cerridwen Yeah, that' what we average a day. It's so hard to keep up. But somehow we all manage, don't we?

Toni yeh, your time's almost up. I can't wait to read our post.

Twenty years of teaching must sure amount to something. A new friend in cyberspace suggested I ought to have a journal by now. I agree.

Jack of all trade, master of none. First a disclaimer. My students have discovered this blog and they might think that what I write is gospel truth. Worse is they might find an argument that they think they can use, for some reason or another, against their teachers. So, to set the record straight, it is NOT. As a matter of fact, I write and open it to feedback to get another view in the hope that somebody would tell me if I am wrong and reenforce my thinking if it is right. Not that I will accept anything thrown my way, though. Just so I can think about it some more and decide whether my original stance is right or definitely off tangent. So there. I hope that clarifies everything. Now, on to blogging.
