Last Friday, I stood as principal sponsor at a wedding to a very good friend. A wedding has always been a very happy occasion. It is a testimony of love and devotion, a sworn committment to stand by your partner no matter what. Well, this couple is a very happy one and making a committment when you're at the top of things is not so hard to fulfill. I wish them the best.

The following day, I attended an exhibit of the famous Saturday Group, a group of reknowned painters that was formed forty years ago and boasts of having in its roster luminaries that had been named national artists like Cesar Legaspi. The group paid homage to Malang, a well-respected practitioner and probably the oldest painter alive today. I managed to have a picture with him taken by friend and member,Omi Reyes.

Finally, Tuesday was my youngest daughter's birthday. We celebrated it with a simple dinner at Mary Grace at the Serendra. Unfortunately, Mickey couldn't come as he had a class at the time. Nevertheless, it was a fun evening enjoying it with just my children and my loving wife. Truly a night to remember.

Malang's awesome and I'll always be a fan even if I'll never be able to afford his artwork.

Belated happy birthday to your youngest. (I've never been to Serendra but I've tried Mary Grace ensaimada and I love it!)

Good picture of a happy couple. :)

cathy Thank you daw sabi niya.

Kakahinayang nga kasi mukhang mahina na siya. I saw him a few years ago sa isang exhibit, he was still very bubbly. Ngayon nakaupo na lang.

batjay dalawang paligo lang ba? Partida naka suit pa ko nun ha. Ayos!

illyria I'd love that. Sayang. I've always wanted to shake your hands. Someday...

bugsy That's in St. James inside Ayala Alabang Village.

The food in Mary Grace is fantastic. Try their pastas, too. And the service is awesome. We were waited on by a very enthusiastic young man.

mari Thanks. Sayang at hindi ako pwedeng mag suit araw-araw no?

ayz kami naman, kadalasan maraming kasama. Minsan, mga pinsan nila, mga kaibigan, etc. KAya tuwang-tuwa ako't talagang kami kami lang that night. Sayang nga at kulang kami dahil me klase yung panganay kong lalaki. Darating din ang panahon na me kanya-kanyang lakad ang mga bata at mahihirapan na kaming magsama-sama. Sana matagal pa yun.

panaderos Oag umuwi ka dito, dalhin kita dun.

Twenty years of teaching must sure amount to something. A new friend in cyberspace suggested I ought to have a journal by now. I agree.

Jack of all trade, master of none. First a disclaimer. My students have discovered this blog and they might think that what I write is gospel truth. Worse is they might find an argument that they think they can use, for some reason or another, against their teachers. So, to set the record straight, it is NOT. As a matter of fact, I write and open it to feedback to get another view in the hope that somebody would tell me if I am wrong and reenforce my thinking if it is right. Not that I will accept anything thrown my way, though. Just so I can think about it some more and decide whether my original stance is right or definitely off tangent. So there. I hope that clarifies everything. Now, on to blogging.
